Ed Grier visits with guest at the POTC Premier, May 5, 2009

I learned earlier today that it was rumored Ed Grier, President of The Disneyland Resort, was retiring. I have confirmed the rumor and I have been read the memo which was passed around the resort today.

Interestingly enough, the memo circulated the resort like any other memo might, without much pomp and circumstance. The real odd part of the memo was the effective date of retirement. Not in a week, not in a month, but IMMEDIATELY!

I postulated in the previous post that with the loss of Dick Cook and now Ed Grier, it appears that Bob Iger is cleaning the Mouse House. Of course this is my opinion and cannot, other than Dick Cook’s departure, be attributed to Iger at this time.
